Roughrider Power, as an ElectraTherm, Inc. authorized distributor, delivers renewable energy solutions for a sustainable future, now. Each day in the United States, thousands of companies burn fossil fuels and use heat for manufacturing processes. The U.S. Department of Energy reports that available waste heat sources exceed the current production of all other U.S. renewable power sources combined - seven quadrillion BTU.
ElectraTherm has pioneered technology to capture readily available waste heat to generate fuel-free, emissions-free energy. Building on the innovative processes that earned him the IHRA world championship, ElectraTherm CEO Richard Langson developed and patented specialized systems that resulted in these revolutionary clean energy solutions. After four years of research and development, ElectraTherm incorporated in Carson City, Nevada in 2005.
In addition to Waste Heat Generators, ElectraTherm's Gas Pressure Reduction Generators serve the oil and gas industry by recovering energy contained in pressure drops throughout the gas transmission and distribution systems. These systems can also produce 25 kW to 1.5 MW of fuel-free, emission-free electricity.

William C. Olson, Senior Vice President, Business Development
William C. Olson is a founder, board member, and Senior Vice President of Business Development for ElectraTherm. An entrepreneur for 28 years, Bill started a Northern California Thoroughbred Racing business fresh out of college. In 1982, he and a partner built and sold a successful direct marketing company before launching Hoover & Associates, a Silicon Valley marketing services firm positioned to develop and manage database driven marketing communications programs for Sun Microsystems and other bay area high tech companies. In 1996, William owned and operated the Players West Women's Professional Golf Tour, conducting over 125 professional golf tournaments in 6 western states, placing over 80 players on the LPGA Tour. In 2001, he helped launch a San Francisco energy company which sold and installed residential and commercial solar PV systems, giving him hands-on understanding of distributed energy and CHP on the path that led to ElectraTherm. William holds a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from Loyola Marymount University.
Robert C. Hoover II, Senior Vice President, Channel Programs
Robert C. Hoover is an ElectraTherm founder, board member, and acting Senior Vice President of Channel Programs. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Southern California, Robert turned a bankrupt production and delivery services company 20 percentage points in three years to profitability, tripling its sales, and selling it in 1981 to an AMEX listed acquirer. Since then, Rob has founded and built three profitable companies. In 1982, he and a partner built and sold a successful direct marketing company before launching Hoover & Associations, a Silicon Valley Marketing Services firm positioned to develop and manage database driven marketing communications programs for Sun Microsystems and other bay area high tech companies. In 1996, Robert co-founded the Players West Women's Professional Golf Tour, and helped launch a San Francisco energy company which sold and installed residential and commercial solar PV systems, giving him hands-on understanding of distributed energy and CHP on the path that led to ElectraTherm.
Professor Ian K. Smith, Director, Centre for Positive Displacement Technology
Professor Ian K. Smith graduated in mechanical engineering at the University of Cape Town. Subsequently, he attended Imperial college, London, where he earned a Diploma in Gas Turbine Technology, followed by a PhD, before spending three years in industry working on aircraft gas turbine development. He then joined the staff of City University, as a lecturer, and as a result of successive promotions, he became Professor of Applied Thermodynamics. In 1995, together with Professor Nikola Stosic, he established the Centre for Positive Displacement Compressor Technology, of which his now the director. ElectraTherm and the City University of London's Centre for Positive Displacement Technology, recognized worldwide as a premier research lab for compressor technology, have partnered for over three years with the goal of commercializing the use of screw expanders for power generation.
Professor Nikola Stosic
Professor Nikola Stosic graduated in mechanical engineering at the University of Sarajevo. He then obtained an MSc at the University of Zagreb, followed by a doctorate at the University of Sarajevo where he continued as a member of the staff. As a result of the war in former Yugoslavia, he took a research appointment at City University in 1992 to investigate the performance of two-phase expanders. This work led to his appointment as Royal Academy of Engineering professor of Positive Displacement Compressor Technology at City University in 1995 where he established the Centre for Positive Displacement Compressor Technology with Professor Smith. In 1998, Professor Stosic was awarded the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Bernard Hall Prize, and in 2005, received the highly prestigious James Clayton Prize by the IMechE for his "Outstanding contribution…to the application of twin screw machines to the compressed air, refrigeration and power generation industries."
