Changing Recoverable Heat to Discoverable Power |
|
Stationary Engines ::: ElectraTherm technology captures jacket water, engine exhaust or a combination of both from stationary IC engines to generate more power, providing two options: ¨ 10% more power for the same fuel ¨ The same power for 10% less fuel
Our technology can be applied to stationary IC engines used for gas compression, pumping, power generation, cogeneration, irrigation, or inert gas production.
Coal Fired Power Plants ::: Although coal-fired power plants account for roughly half of the electricity produced in the United States each year, they have been responsible for 83% of the carbon dioxide emitted by all power plants since 1990. Carbon dioxide is the primary global warming pollutant. The only practical way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from coal is to increase efficiency, by getting more energy out of each pound of coal. ElectraTherm's technology can recover the energy value from heat that is currently lost and use it to produce additional electricity without emissions. The result is revenue from the additional kilowatts generated, reduced emissions per kilowatt, and greater compliance with emissions standards to reduce fines for plant operators.
Geothermal and Hydrothermal Sources ::: Until recently, small-scale, geothermal power generation has been inhibited by the relatively high cost of power plants. Development has focused on units in the multi-megawatt range, while ignoring smaller heat sources. Compared to larger geothermal binary systems, ElectraTherm technology has the following advantages: ¨ Lower cost ¨ Lower heat requirements ¨ Smaller system sizes ¨ Greater efficiencyCreating electricity from geothermal sources is ideal because it harnesses local energy sources, generates electricity without fossil fuel combustion, produces no nitrous oxide or carbon dioxide, and provides a secure domestic energy supply with stable pricing.
ElectraTherm's emission-free power systems have been recognized by the Geothermal Energy Association and the Geothermal Resource Council as an innovative, low-cost solution for geothermal applications.
Oil and Gas Industry ::: Gas Pressure Reduction Stations: Emergent pressure, combined with mechanical compression, drives natural gas through distribution pipelines. Before that gas can be delivered to consumers, pressure must be reduced at pressure reduction stations. ElectraTherm technology uses the released pressure to generate carbon-free electricity. Oil Platforms:
ElectraTherm technology uses the geo-pressure of natural gas on offshore oil programs to produce enough electricity to satisfy the demands of the platform through the controlled expansion of a small amount of the gas flow. Because an offshore satellite platform typically requires less than 30kW, ElectraTherm's scaled technology is far more cost effective than traditional radial inflow or axial turbo machinery. Moreover, ElectraTherm's unit is capable of unattended operation over long periods, and has been designed to withstand remote harsh pipeline and at-sea conditions.
Industrial Process Waste Heat ::: Heat losses are unavoidable when operating fuel-fired furnaces, kilns, boilers, ovens, or dryers. When the energy or heat transfer reaches its practical limit on industrial processes, spent combustion gases are removed from the furnace via a flue or stack to make room for a fresh charge of hotter combustion gases. In most fuel-fired heating systems, this waste heat is the biggest single energy loss in the process, often greater than all other losses combined. ElectraTherm technology converts this heat into usable power or electricity. Industrial processes that produce waste heat include thermal oxidizers, incinerators, and fuel cells.
Bio Gas – Bio Mass ::: ¨ Digester Gas ¨ Ethanol ¨ Landfill ¨ Wood Chips Solar Thermal ::: ¨ Bottom Cycle ¨ Direct Hot Liquid ¨ Steam Condensate ¨ Steam Turbine Other Applications ::: ¨ Aluminum Smelter ¨ Bio-Diesel ¨ Blow Molding ¨ Boiler Blow Down ¨ Compressor Oil ¨ Compressors ¨ District Heating ¨ Ethanol Plants ¨ Food Processing ¨ Glass ¨ Heat Treatment ¨ Hot Oils and Gases ¨ Mining ¨ Motor Vehicles ¨ Refineries ¨ Steam ¨ Steam Condensation ¨ Water Treatment |
